Current Notes
The magazine of the Manchester Astronomical Society
When regular meetings were suspended in 1939, Mr. H.L. Dilks began circulating "Monthly Notes" to keep members in touch with recent events. These notes continued for a period to be re-titled "Current Notes" under the editorship of Mr. William Porthouse who incorporated "Post Tenebras Lux" in the title, translated "After Darkness Light", reflecting the difficulties imposed by ware time blackout.
Since then Current Notes have continued to be produced at approx. two to four issues per year. In 2011 we went digital and the magazine is now distributed by email as a PDF file, but members who do not have email can have a printed version.
