Notes:
Seeing conditions were better than I can remember on this evening. I generally find the "summit" crater on the "Kies dome" a little difficult in the six-inch, however on this occasion it was very easy, but appeared quite "shallow". There is a "valley" running between Mercator and Campanus shown in Rukl's Atlas. This was noted as a "lighter band" running SW from the edge of the drawing to a small mountain group with two craterlets on a "raised" area. The valley continued in a NE direction to another, longer, mountain mass. Rukl shows this valley degenerating into low ridges from this point, however I saw a rather curious "broken" ridge-like structure almost appearing as a stretch of coalesced craters. The domelike objects east of "C" were quite difficult to depict with certainty.
