How to find us
The Godlee observatory is located on the Sackville Street Building, University of Manchester. The best way to enter the building is through the entrance on Granby Row. People without university swipe cards will need to phone the observatory on 0161 306 4977 and someone will come down to let you in. The entrance to the observatory is located on floor G.
We welcome visits from groups, please contact us for more information.
We aim to encourage the study of astronomy for both the newcomer and the seasoned observer alike. You are welcome to attend a few society meetings as a guest. Our weekly meetings take place in the Godlee Observatory on Thursday evenings from around 19:00 until as late as people wish to stay (except lecture dates.). Any scheduled talk will start at 20:00, on your first visit we recommend arriving early to allow time for you to meet some of the members and find out about the society.
